Helen Adamson

Helen is a fully trained counsellor and psychotherapist who works with individuals, couples, and young people.​ With over 25 years of experience in various settings, she has been running her own successful private practice for over 15 years.

Helen offers one hour, face-to-face or virtual sessions, to explore how together through a structured, confidential therapeutic relationship, you can start to improve how you are feeling. Together, you can identify areas of improvement and work towards making desired changes while receiving her professional support.

She offers a safe and supportive, confidential environment for her clients to explore their emotional wellbeing and work together to improve their day to day lives.​

She has extensive experience working with clients with varying levels of anxiety, low mood and depression including complex mental health support, as well as comprehensive experience working with those struggling with alcohol or drug misuse. She has specialist training in trauma, and post-trauma stress, CBT, group work, family and young people.

Helen set up and ran the in-house staff counselling provision at HMP Styal and HMP Manchester for over eight years, being nominated for the Butler Trust Award for services to the Ministry of Justice for her positive impact on staff’s mental well-being.
